Our musicianship teacher and UM Doctoral Candidate, composer Liza Seigido recently won a composition competition at the University of Miami and will have one of her compositions featured in Festival Miami. She has composed a string quartet and it will be performed on Wednesday October 5th, 2011 in Clarke Hall, at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Admission is free.
Our voice teacher and UM Doctoral Candidate, soprano Anna Hersey will travel to Minneapolis, MN in early October to perform the Opening Concert for the Leiv Eriksson International Festival, an annual festival celebrating Nordic composers and Nordic heritage in the U.S. Ms. Hersey just returned from spending a year in Sweden on a Fullbright Fellowship doing research and performing Swedish vocal music in several venues in Europe.
